Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
In short
YourView doesn't collect your data. There's no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your sources, logins, favorites and settings stay on your iPhone, and we never receive them.
Who we are
YourView, called Your View IPTV on the App Store, is made by Thomas Wesselink in the Netherlands ("we" and "us" below), who is responsible for this policy. You can reach us at support@yviptv.com.
What stays on your iPhone
- The playlist links, files and logins you add. Links and passwords are kept in the iPhone's keychain.
- The channels, categories and guides loaded from your sources.
- Your favorites, the last channel you watched, and your settings.
The app processes all of this on your iPhone. None of it is sent to us.
Who the app connects to
- Your provider. To load playlists, guides and channels, the app connects to the servers in the sources you add. As with any player, your provider sees your IP address and what the app asks for, and their privacy policy applies.
- Apple. You buy plans through the App Store, and the app reads your purchases from the App Store on your iPhone to unlock itself. We don't receive your name or payment details: Apple's sales reports to us don't identify you. AirPlay is Apple's too. See Apple's privacy policy.
- Google, only with Chromecast on. Chromecast is off until you switch it on in Settings. While it's on, Google's Cast software looks for Chromecasts on your Wi-Fi and sends Google diagnostic data, an approximate location and a device identifier, not linked to you. Switching Chromecast on is your consent to this. Switching it off withdraws it: the search stops at once, and the software stops completely the next time YourView opens. We're responsible together with Google for having this data sent; what happens to it after that is up to Google, under Google's privacy policy. Google may process it outside the EU.
When you play a channel on a TV with AirPlay or Chromecast, the app gives the TV the channel's address, which can include your provider login, and the TV loads it from your provider itself.
Apple and Google handle this data under their own privacy policies, which protect it at least as well as this one. Apart from them and your provider, the app shares nothing with anyone.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple sends us crash reports and usage figures that don't identify you. You can turn this off in Settings, under Privacy & Security, in Analytics & Improvements.
Permissions
- Notifications: for the reminder before your free trial ends. The app schedules it on your iPhone; no server is involved.
- Local network: only once you switch on Chromecast, to find Chromecasts on your Wi-Fi.
- Files: the app only opens the playlist files you pick.
Deleting your data
Removing a source in Settings deletes it from your iPhone, with its channels, guide and login. Deleting the app deletes the rest of its data. iOS can keep keychain items after an app is deleted, so remove your sources first if you want their logins gone as well. We keep nothing ourselves, since we receive nothing.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to see, correct and delete the personal data someone holds about you, to limit or object to its use, and to take it elsewhere. We don't receive any of yours, so there's nothing for us to hand over or delete, but you can always contact us with questions. For the data Google's Cast software sends, you can use these rights with Google. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
YourView isn't meant for children.
