Questions and answers
What people ask about YourView, the IPTV player for iPhone and iPad. Something else? Email support@yviptv.com.
What is YourView?
An IPTV player for iPhone and iPad that tries to make sense. Add the playlist or Xtream login your provider gave you. Your channels go in one list with a live preview, the guide shows what's on, Search finds programs as well as channels, and AirPlay or Chromecast puts it all on your TV.
Does it come with channels?
No. YourView plays the sources you add, and it comes with no channels, playlists or providers of its own. We don't sell, recommend or link to any, and we're not affiliated with any.
Which sources can I add?
- M3U and M3U8 playlist links, refreshed by hand or on a schedule
- M3U files from the Files app
- Xtream logins: server, username and password
- A guide link of your own (XMLTV, plain or zipped)
Only add sources you have the right to use, as our terms of use say. How to add each one: M3U playlists, Xtream logins and the TV guide.
Does it have a TV guide (EPG)?
Yes, when your source has one. An Xtream login brings your provider's guide, a playlist that names a guide in its header gets that one, and you can add an XMLTV link of your own. Your favorites can then show as a guide grid, and Search finds programs too. See Add a TV guide.
Can I watch on my TV?
Yes. AirPlay plays on an Apple TV or a TV with AirPlay built in. Chromecast plays on Chromecasts and Google TVs, for Xtream logins and HLS (.m3u8) streams, once you switch it on in Settings. Either way, your iPhone or iPad is the remote. See Watch on your TV.
Is there an Apple TV app?
Not yet. It's planned, in the same app, so a plan you buy now covers it when it comes. Until then, AirPlay from your iPhone or iPad plays on an Apple TV.
Is it on Android, Fire TV, LG or Samsung?
Not yet. YourView is on iPhone and iPad for now.
Does it play movies and series?
Not yet. YourView plays live TV. An Xtream login's movies and series aren't imported yet; they come in a later version.
How much does it cost?
- Yearly: $7.99 a year, starting with a 7-day free trial
- Monthly: $3.99 a month
- Lifetime: $9.99 once, with nothing that renews
Every plan includes everything, on all your iPhones and iPads with the same Apple Account. Prices are in US dollars; the App Store shows them in yours.
Why does a channel stop after 5 seconds?
Without a trial or a plan, every channel plays for 5 seconds, so you can check that your playlist works in YourView before you pay. Adding a playlist is free. To watch on, start the free trial or pick a plan.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no account, no ads and no tracking. Your links, logins and favorites are kept on your iPhone or iPad and never reach us. More in the privacy policy.
Do refreshes keep my favorites?
Yes. YourView finds your favorites again after every refresh, even channels whose names change with what's on.
Does it handle large playlists?
Yes. Large playlists import in seconds, and Search answers as you type.
What can the player do?
Channel up and down, back to the previous channel, the channel list without stopping what you're watching, audio and subtitle tracks, fit, fill or stretch, Picture in Picture, AirPlay and Chromecast.
A channel doesn't play. What now?
Channels come from your provider, so check first whether the channel plays elsewhere, for example in your provider's own app. Many logins allow one connection at a time, so close other apps and devices that use the same login. If a channel plays elsewhere but not in YourView, email us its name and category. More on the support page.
What's coming next?
Apple TV, channel names and categories tidied up automatically, and more of the guide: what's on now and next on every channel, reminders and catch-up. No dates yet.
